Community Spirit at London Meed!

Yesterday we welcomed Harley Gasson (the brother of a previous student) to school. Harley, who works for McLaren Automotive, brought with him a high performance supercar! All the children had a chance to see the car, sit inside it and hear its powerful engine as well as its silent electric one! Harley also ran a workshop for Years 5 and 6 on how to build a supercar and delivered a whole school assembly. The children (and adults) were so excited and we wish to say a huge thank you to him for helping create memories.

I would also like to thank the numerous other visitors and groups we have had this term.  Edwin Jones visited to talk to Year 6 about working in the gaming industry and Kim Jones spoke to children about the mental health charity she volunteers for. We have also sent children to visit The Pantry food bank in town and Year 5 have visits planned to Marten House to meet with their residents. I would also like to thank those of you that sent photos of you and your children helping our community and also the women of our school community that sent in photos and videos of their 'proud moments' for International Women's Day.

Finally, I would love to invite more of you into our school to meet with and share any life stories, experiences or your job with our children. Whether you'd like to meet with a small group of children, an assembly or run a workshop we really do need you so please do get in touch.

Many thanks

Mr King
