'Be the best that you can be.'
We hope that this website provides you with all the exciting information about our school.
We are a two-form entry primary school for children aged between four years and eleven years of age. Our school comprises of Key Stage One and EYFS and Key Stage Two. Each year group is organised into two classes and all have access to an outside area to support learning. Our youngest children join The Orchard which is made up of Apple and Cherry class. They are part of our Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). They have two large classrooms and a large outside area that all the children can access. They use continuous provision which means that the children learn through play and their own exploration supported by adults.
Inside the school, we have two large halls, a beautiful and well-stocked library, a nurture and sensory room and a fully equipped music room. We have an SSC (Specialist Support Centre) which has places for eleven children with EHCPs primarily for Speech and Language disorder or difficulty. We also have our Oasis which provides extra support for those children who might need it.
We have the most amazing outside space that supports our OPAL (Outdoor Play and Learning). We have two large playgrounds, a gigantic field, a large courtyard and our own forest school’s area. As part of our OPAL journey, our children are allowed to choose where they play at lunchtime.
Our London Meed Association (PTA) are fabulous and have raised so much money to provide much needed resources including our new outdoor equipment, iPad’s, and a yearly panto.
At London Meed, we believe that our children are at the heart of what we do and that this is their school. Children are voted in to be our Junior Governors and to represent their classes. Over the last year, they were responsible for looking at our outside play and deciding what equipment the children would like and for raising money to buy our two gorgeous guinea pigs called Fluffball and Squishy, who are adored by all our children. We also have our Eco Warriors to help look at how we can Reduce, Re-use and Recycle and our Anti-Bullying Ambassadors who support a safe environment for all of our children.
We are so proud of all the exciting experiences we offer our school community. We have our forty memorable experiences that all children get to take part in. We offer inter-school sporting events for all pupils, music lessons on site with a dedicated music teacher, and a variety of clubs that children can attend at lunchtime and after school. We also offer our own wrap around care via WOW club from 7.15am through to 6.00pm Monday to Friday and during the holidays.
