Welcome

Thank you for visiting our website today.  We can only hope to give a taste of life at our vibrant and happy school community here.  Children who attend are between 4 and 11 years of age and they are our best ambassadors, so please ask them what they think of London Meed Primary School.

Our school values of ‘Bravery, Community, Curiosity, Resilience and Respect’ underpin most of our work because we know these five values contribute strongly to positive attitudes to learning.

London Meed is organised into two classes per year group.  Our Early Years Foundation stage is called ‘The Orchard’ and our youngest pupils have their own dedicated play space, along with access to a wooded area.  Although there are two classes, children usually have access to learning opportunities in both classrooms, as well as to the shared outdoor environment.  KS1 has four classes and another generous play space, including a covered outdoor classroom.  KS2 has eight classes, with six of those opening onto the KS2 playground with a field.  The other classes open onto an internal courtyard area.

We have a Special Support Centre for eleven children with EHCPs primarily for Speech and Language disorder or difficulty. Our SSC is currently full.

Child-care is offered off-site because children are brought to school from a breakfast club and collected and transported to one of two after school clubs operating in the Burgess Hill area.  We can also provide a list of local child minders, with their contact details.

We are proud of the breadth of experiences we offer our school community because we aim to encourage and promote contribution through attendance at sports, academic and music clubs.  We ideally want every child to pursue an interest in something, by offering memorable learning experiences.

Yours sincerely,

Natalie Langtree
